Katie Smith

3rd year / Business Administration / Food Science Minor

Katie started swing dancing during her first year at Cal Poly. She dances Lindy Hop, Charleston, Balboa, Shag, and is learning West Coast Swing! In addition to dancing, Katie enjoys live music, fiction, poetry, and performing at open mics with her friends.

Molly Tedeschi

2nd year / Microbiology

Molly started swing dancing during her first year at Cal Poly. She loves all styles of swing, especially Lindy Hop and Charleston! In addition to dance, she enjoys hiking, cooking, and reading.

Isabella Brinkman

3rd year / Mechanical Engineering

Isabella has been dancing most of her life. She decided to check out the Swing club her first week at Cal Poly and hasn’t looked back since. It has given her a place to rediscover her love of dance and connect with so many amazing people. Her favorite style of dance is Lindy Hop but she loves integrating elements from other dance styles such as Tango, Salsa, and theatrical dance. Outside of dance, Isabella loves going on adventures and spending time outside.

Nora grew up doing ballet and started swing dancing her first year at Cal Poly. Her favorite styles of swing are Lindy Hop and Balboa. Nora also spends time line dancing, reading, hiking, and working at the CP dairy unit.

Sam started dancing during her first year at Cal Poly! She dances Lindy Hop, Balboa, and is learning Shag! In addition to dancing, Sam enjoys reading, knitting, and pretending to be an “outdoorsy kind of gal”. Her favorite place is SLO’s Farmer’s Market.

Cydney discovered Swing her first year at Cal Poly. She enjoys dancing Lindy Hop and loves learning Balboa, Charleston, and Shag. In addition to dancing, Cydney enjoys horseback riding, baking, reading and being outdoors!

Elijah found swing dancing during their second year, and after taking a few weeks to warm up to it, they couldn’t imagine not being part of the club. You can almost always find them burning rubber; if not on the dance floor, then on the climbing walls. Elijah also enjoys photography and being out in nature.
